Presentation instructions
The presenting/participant author must register and pay the conference fee for the conference by the registration deadline. Failure to register will result in removal of the abstract and of the full manuscript from the program.
Full Manuscripts submission instructions
Each manuscript will be peer reviewed prior to publication and all authors of accepted abstracts are requested to submit their full paper through the on-line submission system. Full papers must not exceed 8 pages including all tables, figures, and references. Keynote speakers must also submit a manuscript. We strongly encourage all non-native English speakers to seek a language check of their manuscript before submission. Submitted Manuscripts not fulfilling the Acta Horticulturae guidelines will be returned to authors prior to be sent to the referees. Please check your submitted manuscript: should your manuscript be not meeting the guideline, please revise it accordingly and send it to manuscript[at]freshcut2011.org.
The deadline for receipt of manuscripts was June 30th 2011. Acceptance/revision/rejection of full manuscript, if meeting the guideline, will be communicated to authors by July 30th 2011. The deadline for revised full manuscripts is August 31st 2011.
Oral and poster presentations
There will be oral presentations during plenary sessions, and poster presentations during dedicated poster sessions. Only one oral presentation is allowed per registered participant. However, there is no limitation on the number of posters presented per registered participant. The preference for oral or poster presentation specified by the authors at submission is indicative only. Final decisions on whether a presentation is accepted as oral or poster will be made by the Conference Committees on the basis of the abstracts submitted. We hope you will understand that it may not be possible to accommodate all requests for oral presentations.
Oral Presentations
Each oral presentation will be given 15 minutes including 3 minutes for questions. Computer projection will be available. Presentations must be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint and saved to either a CD or flash drive. Please contact the audio visual desk on arrival and transfer your presentation to the Conference computer and review to resolve any incompatibility issues.
Poster Presentations
Posters will have a maximum size of 120 x 100 cm (height x width), portrait page setup. It is recommended to use one complete (eg A0 paper) sheet, rather than multiple smaller sheets. At the top of your poster include the title, author(s) name and affiliations (organization, city and country). We suggest the poster title be at least 2.5 cm high. Lettering for the author’s name and affiliations may be smaller. Including a photograph of the presenting author helps participants to identify the person to talk during the meetings. The smallest lettering on the poster should be no less than 10 mm high. Illustrations should be visible from a 1m viewing distance. We suggest authors bring at least 20 small copies (eg. A4 size) of your poster to give to interested participants. Posters display will be communicated in due course.
Author’s profile
Authors submitting an abstract are invited to send the author’s profile to give visibility to their work and affiliation.
Research profile
Authors and Co-Authors are invited to send the Research profile of their team to give visibility to their work and affiliation.
